The Department of English at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec invites applications for one tenure-track position in Medieval Literature and Culture. Candidates should have research  interests from the high to the late Middle Ages, teaching experience, a completed PhD (or one
very near completion), publication(s), and secondary strengths in one or more of the following: digital humanities research; early modern literature; other medieval European vernacular literatures; Old English and/or medieval Latin language and literature. Applications must consist of a cover letter, a current curriculum vitae, copies of recent publications, a statement of teaching philosophy/interests, a statement of research achievements, and evidence of teaching effectiveness. All applications must include a writing sample of 25 pages. Candidates must also arrange to have three letters of reference sent directly to the departmental contact.

Subject to budgetary approval, we anticipate filling this position, normally at the rank of Assistant Professor, for July 1, 2012.
